Working together or
collaborating as a part of a consortium can bring enormous benefits:
·
in
the range of services you can offer
·
by
giving access to larger pieces of work that would have been out of reach if you
were operating alone
Consortia can be set up
either formally or informally, and if you are considering tendering for work,
can give a big advantage.
You can share the costs of
marketing leaflets, developing a website, administration, premises, large pieces of machinery or legal advice.
If you work as an informal
consortium then one of the members will have to be willing to be the ‘accountable body’ for the other members of the consortium.
By setting up formally
through a company structure member organisations will have a share in managing
access to work.
